NEST360 Impact: Mortality Interim Results for Africa’s Newborns-Updated May 2026

NEST360’s interim mortality results to September 2025 show a statistically significant mortality reduction for admitted newborns across 65 hospitals in Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, and Tanzania. These data strengthen confidence in how coverage and quality improvements, especially for CPAP & KMC, reduce neonatal inpatient mortality.

Partnerships will be key for all of us to go faster together for survival, especially across Africa, with urgency to reduce over a million annual preventable neonatal deaths on the continent.
