Oxygen Cylinder Safety Guidelines

In newborn units, oxygen cylinders may be used as a backup to oxygen concentrators or PSA plants in case of a power outage or as a primary source of oxygen therapy. When used as a primary source of oxygen, cylinders are usually connected in a manifold and distributed throughout the ward as in piped oxygen system.
